Toshiba Officially announced that they had added Face recognization application to several notebook PCs that will recognize users via the integrated Webcam.
This Toshiba Face Recognition software application will allow the users to log on to four new designed laptops (the Satellite U400, M300, A300 and Satellite P300 ) with their face as password
Toshiba Company describes this new face-recognition application as a "fun and convenient" way to log in to the PC.
One interesting point is that they are not claiming that it's a genuine security feature; they rather describe it as more of a convenient alternative to entering a user name and password,which means we can not trust it 100%. a company spokesman said. "Right now it's more of a novelty feature than a security measure."
During setup the password for this application, the user is asked to move his /her face several times, so that it will collect several images and that can be used as a database when identifying a user.
